Slimming down [19 Oct 2005|09:56pm]

I'm a girl with really bulky calves and bigger shoulders than i would like because of muscle. Is there anyway to slim it down other than just losing the muscle? I really would like nice legs, but it's impossible with my calves. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!

is anybody in here anymore? what's it gonna take to get this community jumpin? well, i have a question for all the members: what r ur current exercise goals and what's ur exercise regimen? my exercise goals r quite simple: healthy, more stamina, and get my body toned up. my exercise regimen's simple also: cardio and push ups 3 times a week and pilates 3 times a week.

All you fitness ladies gotta cop this mag. It's off the chain. Out of all of the women's fitness magazines on the market right now, Oxygen's the best. They have soooo much good information on fitness, exercises and different routines, and healthy recipes that you can try. I've tried some of the recipes and they're good! Plus the women have gorgeously, muscularly toned physiques that make you wanna get up and exercise your ass off so you can get that body too! They also keep it REAL. They don't sugar coat anything and give you the straight up facts on what's really good. Check 'em out. I've subscribed to them and love it. This mag's the bomb rather you're starting out, starting back up, or a fitness freak. They've got something for everyone.

Yes, it has been awhile since I posted here. But I need motivation. Lately I have been feeling like a slug, and I want to go out and workout, but I just lack the will power. You would think that wanting to fit into my skinny jeans again would be enough. I am at around 145-150 right now and I want to get down to 140 or 135 and fit into my jeans again, and feel healthy. I also really need to get my eating habits back in order. I have been doing alright...I drink alot of water, and eat fruits and veggies as lunch/snacks. I am also trying to get my g/f to eat better and workout with me. She is trying. Anyway that is all. Any advice or motivation would be great. Thank you everyone!

I have also set up a donation through paypal for the wedding ceremony itself. We are college kids and Jenny thought it would not hurt to set something like that up. That way if anyone wants to contribute they can, and if your guests did that then they would not have to even bring a gift or anything else...that would mean the world to us. My name is Ashley and i live in Raleigh, NC.
Last time i checked i weighed 135 but my mom took the scale from me. I want to weigh around 120. I usually run track year-round and my coach makes me stay above 140 because it's "unhealthy" for me to be under that weight and as active as i am. But I broke my foot at the beginning of the season and broke it again because im impatient sooo ive been quite inactive for some time now. I still cant do any lower body workouts and they dont know when i'll be able to. So i've just been trying to be strict on calories and do some upper body and ab things...! but i really wish i could do more but i dont know what else i could do?

I am tooo bored tonight so I just keep postin things. Hahaha. These are the running shoes that I want and customized on Nike's website. It's $110 if you customize them and $100 if you don't so for $10 extra if you want them customized you may as well go for it.

This is physique that I working out hard towards. I like my body, I just want to enhance it, naturally haahhaa not artificially. I just look to her physique for motivation because I want my stomach to be flat and toned like hers and how her arms are gorgeously toned. My stomach isn't big, it's flat just not toned as for arms also, they're a nice size they just could use some more toning and strength! My legs are muscular because I run and do pilates so I really just want my arms and stomach in check. If anyone's into the fitness world then you know that this is Danielle Edwards. What your fitness goals are: Strength and endurance.
What about your body that you want to change: Just smaller thighs, that's it.
What your current workouts involve: I weight lift 3 - 4 times a week and jog twice a week. I squeeze in yoga or Pilates whenever I can.

I have a question: I am really trying to not be so sluggish during the day, but it seems like it constently plagues me. I work out, but I still feel sluggish afterward. I've cut my sweet in take as well.
I've tried vitamins, a low carbohydrate diet, a high carbohydrate diet, sleeping early, sleeping late...but I'm still groggy. Any recommendations?

Also, can you think of any form of exercise that is fun and gets me out doors often? I hike and stuff, but I want something that's really going to push my limits while I reside in the city.

Okay, quick question for you girls.

I don't like to let my face get a lot of sun, so I want to start using a bronzer so it matches the rest of my body.

My mom had two. One from the Body Shop that was little balls, and I didn't like it. Orangey. Cakey. Fake looking. Same for this Cover Girl kind she had.

SO, what kind do you guys use?

Okay, I've been taking the pill (Ortho-tri-cyclen) for a long time now. I always start taking my green reminder pills on a Sunday (as I did today) and my period will come on a Tuesday. Well, I just went to the bathroom and I'm bleeding a little bit. Not a lot, but enough to tell me that it's obvious my period is coming. For like a year now everythings happened like clockwork, and now that it's early it scares me. Anyone else had this problem?

Anything else: ladies, you've got to check out Oxygen magazine. It's a fitness magazine for women and it's very very informative. I've gotten hella work out routines, healthy recipes, and loads of fitness and nutrition information. Ladies of all different shapes, sizes, colors, etc can gain something from this great magazine.

I noticed, like Shannon, that not much has been going on in here. It's been awhile, so how are things going with anyone? Who's keeping up with their routine/started a new one and how is everything going?!

I, personally, haven't been able to do much. I work ALL the time, yet somehow I managed to lose 4 pounds in 3 weeks. That's not very much, only a little over a pound a week, but considering I haven't really started exercising, I got excited!! I have some unforseen circumstances that will stop my goals for a little while, but like I said, how is everyone else doing? :D

My sister joined this community although I don't think that she has filled out her application yet, but I'm looking to lose some weight that I recently gained, so I came to you guys. This summer is gonna be a summer of change for me, not only weight, but attitude and my whole outlook on life, and I'm looking forward to doing all of these things!

What about your body that you want to change: [Keep in mind FITNESS, not plastic surgery] I want to get my thighs smaller and tone them and I want to get rid of the belly that I've recently gained
What your current workouts involve: It's not like I never workout, but it's never consistent at all...but when I do I jog on the treadmill, ride the stationary bike, and use the elipticle..and for abs I do crunches and do ball changes, with those big balls.

...and whatever else you want to add! I've always had a weird relationship with food...this year I gained some weight and I've just been really unhappy about it, and I'm finally at the point where I'm tired of just complaining about it and I'm ready to take some steps to get a change in things.

What about your body that you want to change: [Keep in mind FITNESS, not plastic surgery] my stomach has a really weird shape to it, there's a crease just above my belly button, so it makes it look like i have two stomachs, and buldgy? if that makes any sence, it looks really weird and I'm hoping if i tone up my stomach and loose a bit of weight I can get rid of it.
What your current workouts involve: none yet, i'm starrting one on monday.
